Good Grief Charlie Brown . . .

I have officially waved the white flag on getting the Christmas card picture I had in mind - mainly because it was non-specific to begin with, but also because the reality of aligning the stars (a/k/a kids) and the moon (a/k/a mother nature and proper lighting) just isn't happening. I drafted some cards that I was pretty pleased with and showed them to Allyson. Her response was that the pictures just weren't Christmasie enough. Really! Seriously! Wasn't she one of the players...scratch that - THE PLAYER who made getting any photos almost impossible with her schedule, hair problems, nothing to wear, oh the list goes on and on. And now, they aren't "Christmasie enough". Then to add insult to injury, she suggested I "just take some snap shots" of them by the tree like I "usually" do. Ok, Fine, lets try some non-staged pictures by the tree and what the hey, lets thrown in a cat just to make things interesting. Mind you, our tree is currently tinsel and lights only until Ike.med' the kitty terrorist has shown that he will not shake the tree just to watch the bulbs clink and shatter. (don't even get me started on his run and dive under the tree skirt trick). At any rate, here is one of the few and sad attempts of tree pictures. I'm going with one of my drafts!

and since this week's photo challenge is "traditions", here is a shot of one of the snow globes that is a holiday tradition of mine.

  1. Love the kitty in the box! Great Christmas card shot! I still haven't done my own cards yet....I need to have someone take a picture of my family with my camera, I guess. That snow globe is beautiful, too!

  4. Love the snow globe and the out-of-focus lights! Sooo sorry about the kids and Christmas card dilemma; sounds like the cat just adds to the problem. Good luck! Family will like whatever you choose, you know.

  6. You crack me up and it's so true about the stars aligning to get that perfect shot of your own family. I feel the same way. I really love that snow globe!

  7. I love it!!!!!! You just KNOW this is a post, and photo, that I whole-heartedly approve of! My card this year has a post of my dog in glasses, and my kids (who believe themselves to be adults) goofing off behind me and Doug. The photo is horrible. .. I'm going with it!

  8. Nikki, just came back to ask. . . does this mean you DON'T take your camera shopping with you? I feel practically naked now without it, but it's so dang heavy!
