This week's photo challenge is time. I had an idea . . .
having just celebrated my daughter's birthday, memorializing Mom's on the 3rd, and next weekend being Ike's (cat) - I thought I would photograph candles as a tool we use to measure time. As children we can't wait to add another candle - remember being 6 "and a half", 8 "and a half"? And then we hit 30. No more halves - in fact, my sister employs a policy of subtracting candles.
at any rate, while looking through the cake tin of past birthdays searching for a candle I found this
Isn't that so true? Time flies by too quickly and we don't realize it until we are older. What a shame. What a precious thing that you captured of that little blue balloon.
ReplyDelete:-) Reminds me of the Jim Croce song "Time in a Bottle" for some reason. Now that's stuck in my head.
ReplyDeleteLove this post. Such insightful sentiments, and your shots are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the candle reflection in the first shot. . . and your reflections on time.
ReplyDeleteI love your candle shot, and the post is so true, time goes by so quickly!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I am going to have to take some candle photo's this weekend at my sons birthday. I will now think of candles in a whole new way.
ReplyDeleteCool candle shot and great way to measure time!
ReplyDeleteDoes measure time fore sure! Love the candle shot!
ReplyDeleteWow! Nicki, I would love to see the "human sleds" you mentioned on my blog! That would be amazing. . . . and I'm sure the dogs would be so much better at it than the humans. One of the issues for the dogs is that they actually get overheated while running the races!
