according to Google News, today is the bluest, most depressing day of the year.
I did not know there was a designated day.
How did I miss the memo?
I do recall from my days as a mental health counselor that you never wanted to be on call during full moons - but I have no recollection that there was a specific day set aside as the most depressing day of the year. And here I am sitting listening to Adele's bluesy, 'I am so over you', less than cheery music.
What was I thinking?

coming down stairs I glanced outside and viola - this is what I saw.
Well, similar to this.
I trotted off for my camera, came back to the window, and then VIOLA, this is what I saw.
Not depressing at all - nice little glimmer of hope on the hill side if I say so myself.
So cheer up folks - in less than 24 hours, you can officially put your blues behind you.
And I, for one, am totally on board for that.
What a great picture...
ReplyDeleteWell, isn't it lovely that we actually have an official day in which to indulge ourselves with being blue... LOVE the shot! What gorgeous morning light! That would make any day go better, and the geese flying into the shot just add to it. Perfect timing, Nicki.
ReplyDeleteSo, do ya think Hallmark makes a card?
ReplyDeleteP.S. By the way, fabulous shot! Love how you caught the sun glowing on the hillside in the background.

ReplyDeleteHappy try to be cheerful day! I remember when I was a CPS social worker we never wanted the "on call" for full moons either. Never heard of a "bluest day of the year." Probably just as well, because for some folks it would become a self-fulfilling thing, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteNeat shot Nicki! It is a two tone kind of shot, part gray and dreary and part bright and cheery.

ReplyDeleteI heard this for the first time today. I kind of chuckled wondering how the most depressing day can be scheduled. I guess there is some algorithm. Glad you could find something wonderful to focus on! So pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe picture does signify HOPE. I love the fiery shade of orange against the dark landscape... beautiful!
