resolutions
.
.
one word
.
.
mantra
.
.
whatever...
one thing is for sure
I AM CHANGING
things up
things up
. . .
by the end of last year
I was better on tract
with keeping it healthier
. . .
. . .
there is still room to improve,
and I fully intend to do that.
with or without the rest of the gang.
they either follow
or they don't
. . .
I am going to
be healthier
I am going to
be healthier
last year I found myself desperately seeking
.
some kind of fulfillment
.
accomplishment
.
satisfaction
I looked for it in other people
(but how could they know what makes me happy
when I'm still trying to figure that out?)
* * *
* * *
I looked for it in hobbies
and
domestic conquests
(there is no such thing as a clean house!)
* * *
I looked for it in material objects
(it does not come in purses,
jewelry, or clothes)
* * *
I failed
miserably!
* * *
this year
I intend to find it
in
me
I am not a rock
I can move
I can smile more
I can laugh more
I can be more
Hi Nicki! Thank you so much for your sweet comment at my blog...it really meant a lot. And your photography is amazing!!! Gorgeous pictures here! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThe first step in becoming happier is realizing that we are the only ones who have the power. No one can make us happy, unhappy, angry; it's how we choose to react to the world around us that determines our attitude. Good for you for taking that first step. I take it often. I do well, then oops! Need to start over. Good luck on the journey!
ReplyDeletethat is exactly it - it is a journey and one that sometimes gets side tracked. I've had an oops and am bound and determined to get back on the trail. Thanks Pat!
DeleteExcellent advice for all of us. It all lies within. Amazing pics in this post, by the way!

ReplyDeleteGood luck with your goals in 2013! I can tell you one thing - the photos are just gorgeous. Is that deer in a cemetery? I think I see a headstone. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBarb - yes that deer is in a cemetery - an abandoned, very old one at the top of the hill.
DeleteGreat post, Nicki! You can achieve anything you want, and sometimes it's ok to give ourselves permission to change or adjust our goals along they way, too ;)
ReplyDeleteSo beautifully said. I think you will be in the right mindset now to find what you are after.
ReplyDeleteIt is great to start a new approach, isn't it!
