you heard it here first ...

it would appear there is no such thing as a stress free departure / flight schedule from Charleston during the month of January. there you have it
. . . it's a fact Jack!

 . . .

the next APB is it is looking unlikely I will have any pictures, new or otherwise, for this week's scavenger hunt. I'm bummed, but I'll live. Truth is, I was pushing it last week and this week, I wasn't feeling it with the prompts. Still not feeling the love.
 It happens!

 . . .

but I am happy to say THE BOOK arrived.

I am generally (98%, give or take) happy with it.
 It is 12x12.
Once you go big, you can never go back!

except for perhaps one grammatical error, it is generally typo-free.
confession: I only had one page of text with perhaps a blurb here or there, maybe 3 times total.
 less is more!

I love the 2-page spread but have discovered that you have to be acutely aware of the crack placement.
isn't that always the case!

next time - flat binding (or what ever it is they call it).
live and learn,
live.and.learn!

. . .

just in case you are wondering - the book was printed by Shutterfly.
Between all the specials and extras, I saved over $100 on the price.
Nice!

  1. Nicely done...I am considering this also, but I have soooo many words and pictures I will have to do a year in 2 books and still will cost me well over $100 each. Sorry you won't be with us tomorrow at SHS...but I have not felt the love each and every week either.

  2. Oooh, how nice! My aunt just got a photo book of her granddaughter made by Shutterfly. It seems quite impressive.

  3. Haven't been feeling the love either with the SHS prompts yet in 2013. Your book looks GREAT. I used Blurb...but am always on the look out for other avenues. Will def look into Shutterfly too. Congrats!

  4. I used Shutterfly last year for my barn book and was very happy (since it was free!)

  5. Beautiful way to display your photos. My friend used an album from ALBELLI, check out the cost at www.albelli.nl

  6. I love it! I did an 8x8 two years ago and it was too small. I love the bigger size. Have to remember the flat binding.

  7. Nicely done! I love love Shutterfly. I do a lot of their 8x8s, because you can always find a Groupon for that size. I did do one 12x12 and seriously loved the result. I also love the 2 page spread option, but you do have to be careful of where the page join is...

  8. Ooh, I love photo books. I have decided for the grandparents, I will make a photo book each year and that will be their Christmas presents. I usually make 3 copies --one for each set of grandparents and one for ourselves.

I had to skip SHS this week, too. :(
