from across the pond ...

I would like to say that I dreamed up and procured my husband's Valentine's Day gift on my own,
but then I would be lying.

The fact of the matter is, he is a 007 junkie and this pooch has been on his radar for a long time.
My Valentine's Day gift to him was the 'okay' to get it.

Na, actually that is not true either.

Truth is he was going to get this for himself regardless, I just jumped in and said "that can be your Valentine's Day gift." and he said "okay, that works!". About as romantic as the backside of this hound; but if you are a 007 fan, that can be all the romance you need.

***
speaking of the backside of something British
this weekend is the finale of Downton Abbey.
Personally, I'm not ready for it to end.

  2. Seriously! HOW can Downton Abbey's season be over ALREADY??!!??? I think those Brits have a very different definition than we do of how long a proper television season should run! :). Personally, I think that last shot is my fav...butt and all :)

  3. I will miss miss miss Downton - what will I do on Sunday nights but miss the show? Nice gift for your hubby - mine just got a card and an expression of love.

  4. Haven't started Downton Abbey so I can't say I am disappointed that it is over. I will get on the bandwagon in my own sweet time, but haven't yet. Everyone I know who watches it, loves it. Nice Valentine's Day gift, btw.

  5. A great gift, and sounds like you jumped in at the perfect time to give the gift! As long as it's something he wants, it's romantic, in my book.

  6. Love the British back end, Nicki. My Valentine's gift from my husband was part of the money to pay for that new lens I ordered at the end of January. My birthday gift next week will be more of the same. I'm pretty thrilled with that gift...now if I can just develop the talent to use it well...

  7. Well, that's kinda how my husband and I give things to each other too. I think it works. :))

  8. James Bond looked so much better years ago. I think he's a little too much "British Bull Dog" nowadays. What's your opinion on this.
By the way, lovely post, great photography, and excellent Valentines Day caperama linkage.

  9. The best gifts are the ones they wanted anyway! Love the doggie.

  10. Cute shots! I love the first one, and the strange little bull dog is made even more appealing by the fact that his two eyes are so different from one another! And good work, seizing the moment, and "claiming" that as the VD gift!
