Farewell Christmas and 2009 . . .

Not only is it time to box up the holiday, it is time to relinquish the litany of abandoned or underachieved resolutions made 12 months ago. Personally, I'm not in favor of resolutions - and yet each January 1st I set at least a few for myself. Last year I set a goal to take a little time for 'me' and with the support of my family, I did just that with my photography. I also set a goal to give the family healthier meal options ---- that one had occasionally success, but I think we're on the right track. This year I'm setting 'family' resolutions (share the pain is my new motto!) with the objective to add more exercise to our lifestyle and to reduce the clutter. I suspect a lot of this will fall on my shoulders - but hope the family gets behind me again to make them a reality. [the 1980 comforters in the attic gotta go!] So its out with the old and in with the new.
Happy New Years everyone!

  3. luvnlife - I took this on manual setting with my f/stop at 3.5, shutter at 1/20 (wow that was slow!) and an ISO at 1600. I did have to adjust the white balance to the white on the zebra slightly, and cropped in a little.

  8. Well here's to a healthy and happy 2010! Good luck with those family resolutions. Baby steps is what I say...don't try to do it all at once! Love your POTD, so fitting for the last photo of the year. Galloping into the new year! :)

  9. Good luck with your 2010 resolutions and great idea with the "share the pain" motto! I love your little zebra; is there a story as to why a zebra? I think your goals sound very much like mine! I've made some headway with decluttering. . . . but so much more to go!

  10. Nicki, it worked well to "slurp" my blog to blurb. Once I did it, I went back and deleted some pages I didn't want to use, and edited some of the photos to be exactly the way I wanted them. I don't think I used the photos as pulled in by blurb; I replaced them to make sure they were in 300 dpi (or is is ppi; I forget) rather than 72 for the blog. You want it to be good for printing! It's fun, and such a nice record to look at later! I did two of them so far, and want to work on one for 2009 now as well. Have fun with it!
