In the course of visiting colleges with our daughter, we went to my alma mater of Shepherd College - well, now a University. Many years have passed since I first visited Shepherdstown while my mom was a student there, and subsequently when my sister and I went there for our education. I was astounded with all that has changed and am so impressed with its advancements. I must admit, however, I am glad it was just good ole Shepherd College when I attended. Simple. Intimate. Quality. The luxury of going to school in a historic town is that while many things change, some details remain the same. Awe, to flip the switch and go back and do it all again. I would enjoy it more and not be in such a hurry. I graduated high school, skipped the Senior Trip and went straight to college; do not pass go, do not collect $200. I wouldn't trade those years for anything - only to slow down and enjoy it.
That's a really nice shot. I can feel the history in that. And I agree about wishing I had slowed down and taken everything in a little more, but I'm trying to make up for it now!
