scavenger hunt Sunday - post 1,000 ...

 Today makes my 1,000th post.
I can still remember my first post in January 4 years ago.
Holy Crap - 4 years of blogging.
I'd like to think I've become wittier, wiser, and more savvy with my photography.
I suspect I've achieved some of that, but mostly have gotten older.
I am grateful for finding several memes to inspire and share as well as the folks I have come to look forwarding to seeing each week (well, at least their work and words).

This week's scavenger hunt included:

... The small things ...

~ Enjoy the little things in life for one day you'll look back and realize they were the big things.~
Robert Brauit

I treated myself to a bouquet of flowers from the grocer and these little niblets were tucked inside.

... Illustration - own drawing or someone else's ...

The wall over my work desk displays some of the best art in the world.

 ... Valentine ...

The love of your friends can never be over-stated.

 ... Work of Art ...

Years back my younger brother and I picked out a piece of art for our mom, a picture of a lady who strongly resembled our great-grandmother, the woman who raised our mom. At some point later one of us came across this statue - seemingly the same lady.
When I look at it I see my great-grandmother as a young woman,
I see the woman who shaped the woman I would call mom,
the woman who would in turn shape me as a mother.

... Window Beauty ...

a window painting that hangs on the wall at my mother-in-law's house during the winter.

and some window art in the form of a silhouette of the tree outside one of the bedroom windows.

Thanks for visiting!

  8. You obviously enjoy art. I love your sculpture shot and what you wrote about it. Window shadows on the blinds....very awesome. I should treat myself to some grocery store flowers. I could use some color around here. Have a great day.

  9. Oh and congrats on the 1,000th post. A milestone for sure. did you ever think? I'm sure you've grown in many ways-not just age. Go back and read a few from the first months. Mine are embarrassing, but we all start somewhere. I think the growth will hit you instantly.
