Rurality: Circle of Life Edition ...

Simply True.

Funny Nita would mention how she hoped there were no cats nearby the birdie in yesterday's post.

I looked out the window the other day and noticed a slightly larger object making its way down the fence towards the bird feeder. The birds were not fooled by how well this critter blended into the whole dull gray of the fence and day.
 Cat = 0 Birds = 1

Not being a big fan of the whole National Geographic Circle of Life video, I am glad the birds outwitted, out played, and out lasted this cat.
As a consolation prize, I did put some kitty food out to compensate the lack of bird entree.

  6. Lovely shots.

    Sometimes it is hard to reconcile a love of cats (which surely has to include an acceptance of their carnivorous natures) with a love and enjoyment of having birds in our environment. Lately, my form of compromise is, when I open the door to let a cat out, to shout loudly, "look out birds, her she comes". My idea is to give fair warning and then let nature take it's course. I admit, if one of my cats ever got either of the Cardinals that seem to have taken up residence nearby I would have a hard time accepting that.
