good.random.fun | artistic expression ...

the GOOD ...

25 feet high, 18 feet wide, 55 feet long;
first time West Virginia has had a float in the Rose Parade since 1963;
and all to celebrate a good cause
- the miraculous medical treatment of children.

It felt good to cheer on a 'hometown' float even if representative of the rivalry school
that is never to be mentioned in our house

 any way ...

The attention to design seemed to be a big hit with the viewers.
Very good artistry.

the RANDOM ...

Take one large rock, add a walkway under it,
and with the right sales pitch, you have ART.

Art and Random go hand-in-hand.

 the FUN ...

Interactive yellow noodly ropes that was playful.

Art can be fun.

  2. Great post this morning! I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable walking under the rock. The float is beautifully done.

  3. The details in the Rose Parade floats always astound me. How wonderful you got to see one up close! The yellow fringe does look fun. The rock art made me smile.

  6. Now you made me curious what "that rival school never to be mentioned" is? Love the rose float - whimsical! I'm not so sure I would walk beneath that rock - the support looks too flimsy to me! Happy week:)

  7. I remember when that big boulder was being trucked to it's resting place. It was quite a spectacle.
