To live in hearts we leave behind, Is not to die.

It has been one year today that I lost one of, if not the most influential people in my life - my mom. I think of her daily and miss her dearly. I will always cherish the time we had together and yearn that it had been longer. Mom enjoyed surrounding herself with flowers - she just wasn't too keen on the 'growing them' part - that she left to those with 'green thumbs' which she resolutely claimed not to have. This is one of the lilies she gave me to plant and grown in my garden.
Nicki--what a beautiful daylily! Love the ruffled edges and the veining in it. How wonderful that it will come back year after year to remind you of your mom.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful photo and beautiful sentiment, as well. Sorry about the loss of your mom. I lost my mom five years ago...much too soon...and I still miss her so much.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry...it is hard losing ones that we are so close too. Your photo is lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt must be so hard to lose someone as important as a mother... So sorry for your loss
ReplyDeleteAwe...what a sweet tribute. Lovely flower. Lilies are my favourite.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty shot. I'm so sorry for your loss.
