But not the case for our magnificent band.
They came equip with shields...

tents...

and a castle ...

heck, even the band boosters came dressed for King Aurthur's Court . . .

and with a fist-pump to get going . . .

the drum majors took the field . . .

and they marched their hearts out . . .

and twirled . . .

and it all came down to one member falling while marching backwards - and the scores given by the guy in the white circle . . .

we opted to leave before the results were announced because: 1) it was freezing cold. 2) the college band had yet to play before the bands lined up for the awards. 3) my daughter was absolutely convinced that the member falling pretty much blew it for them to win and she just couldn't bear to see them lose after such a hard season. 4) - and this is the clincher - we didn't feel like sitting in traffic for another 30 minutes when everyone was trying to get out of there. So while we didn't find out the results, we did cheer them on and I thought they did a wonderful show.
Well? You are going to let us know what happened, right? You can't just leave us in suspense! On the other hand, these kids work so hard! Is it really necessary to declare a winner anyway?
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm not really all that competitive, but I'm guessing they outdid the tomato stick people!
ReplyDeleteThose are some great shot. The lighting and DOF are outstanding!
