Did you know . . .

* That Alabama was the first state to declare Christmas as a holiday?

* That there are 15 billion Christmas cards sent out in the U.S. each year?

* That only 9% of Americans say they roast chestnuts over the holidays?

* That 1903 was the first year electric lights were put on trees?

* The German word
Christkindl meaning "Christ child"
was eventually turned into "Kriss Kringle"?

* That it is rumored that cattle talk on Christmas eve?
Does The Pioneer Woman know that?

Isn't it amazing the wealth of information you can glean
from the Music Choice channel while ironing.

  1. That's a lot of information I didn't know! And another cute santa! :)

  2. Snort! I love useless information like that. Nice looking Santa, Nicki

  3. Ha. I don't know a single person who actually roasts chestnuts, I guess it's good to know there are people that actually do.

  4. Loove your Santa! And I am not one of the 9% who roast chestnuts lol!

  5. Cute Santa! You learn something new each day.

  6. That looks like another wonderful vintage ornament! I love it! There are a couple of things on my Christmas bucket list: Roast chestnuts on an open fire and go riding through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh. It would be so nice to know what the heck the songs are talking about! And I'm with Pat, I love all that trivia! Keep posting some!
