due diligence . . .

In the course of clearing out duplicates from my photo library I got side tracked with a more urgent need to upload properly sized pictures so that I can eventually make a book of 2010 blog excerpts. The unfortunate reality of this endeavor is that I will have to increase the number of pictures on the computer. The plus side is that it is only temporary.

In the mean time, it is snowing AGAIN! and I am searching for a more direct and easier way to create a book of blog excerpts for 2011.

  1. It is meant to snow again here tomorrow too, although I doubt it will.
My collection of photo's is nowhere near the size of yours... however I do know what you mean with daunting.. I don't have duplicates but I never go through and delete the rubbish images after I upload them.. so now I have a few thousand too many that I will NEVER need. I started deleting them on Monday... it takes forever!!
A blog book sounds awesome.. I would LOVE to be able to hand it down so family could see into '2011'. You never know what will happen to these webpages in 20,50,100 years....

  2. More snow... You guys are really having a rough winter. But it gives you an excuse to spend time cleanig off the extra pictures (and, apparently, creating more - LOL!). A blog book sounds like such a great idea!

  3. This year I'm saving a flattened full size of the photo and the web size of the photo in my 2011 365 folder. I wanted to make a book the last time I did this project and didn't have the full sizes saved. It's a huge project! Your family would love having the book though - so good luck.

  4. What a great idea about the web book. And your picture of the geese are beautiful. You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place.

  5. i love these geese. for my p365 I'm saving 3 copies. one edited, one edited with logo/photo #, one blog sized with logo/photo #. I'm planning a photo book with templates.

  6. The perspective of this shot is good.

I'm not sure if I'm going to make a book of my p365. I've only uploaded web sized files to flickr. They are all tagged with 365 in LR, so it'll be easy for me to filter the shots within 2011 and then export at a print size if I decide to make a book.

  11. I've always wanted to do one of those books and my daughter is always asking me to, but I only upload my pictures at a 650 px width, so I don't think that would be enough. And since I've had my blog since 2006, I can't even *imagine* going back switch out the photos. I doubt I could even FIND most of the photos! Plus, sometimes out of laziness I was taking them low resolution on the camera, because I knew I only wanted them for the blog.

    Very pretty geese!
