Whoo hoo . . .

urban for "yahoo",
which is southern for "happy" exclamation.

All I know is that I'm giddy because I got my 2010 photo book and it is BIG;
as in urban for 'Dang girl, that's huge!

It is the largest book I have ordered to date from Shutterfly at 12x12.

Initially I felt guilty for the hugeness of the pages,
but after looking at it several times and recognizing the purpose of the book
was to have something we could look at for years to come,
I have to admit I'm glad I went with that size.
What struck me as luxurious today
will one day be a necessity for fading vision.

I would encourage anyone taking pictures,
trying to develop skills in photography
to get some of their pictures printed.
More and more we are simply taking pictures for web viewing,
but I have to confess, being able to not only look at,
but touch and flip through, makes them much more real.
An affirmation of where I have progressed in my study of this craft.

  1. Wow - that looks GREAT Nicki!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats!

I would love, love, love to do that one of these days ( said on 2peas it was my next project, but I misunderstood what you meant - I was just going to get my wedding photos). I always print out at least a few of my pictures, in case I'm ever homeless and without internet. (Kidding! But you just never know...) My kids don't understand because who could imagine life without internet if you grew up without it?

  2. Nicki, that looks fantastic! I've often said that I should do something like that, but I'm baffled with just where to start.

  3. Nicki! I've missed you! I adore your new book! As usual, your humor is wicked fun! What a beautiful job! I noticed you didn't post comments. I've been debating whether to do that or not. And it was so wonderful seeing the change in your tree! I almost cried!

  7. This is awesome! People talk about blog books and sometimes post their templates or layouts, but we rarely get to see photos of the actual book itself. I definitely want to do one of these at the end of 2011 :)
