desperately seeking signs of Autumn . . .

I traveled North expecting to be amazed by a fabulous display of New England Autumn foliage. The week prior to my visit, the girls had complained that it was cold enough to see their breath, cold enough for the heaters to automatically kick on in their dorms. That information, added to a campus that can best be described as "woodsie", had me almost giddy with anticipation; so it was understandable that I was a little let down when I actually had to go search for signs of Autumn. Probably in a week or so it will be in full color. Oh well!

  1. Hey, Nicki, I feel your pain. Fall is extremely tardy around here--nothing has turned, even up in the mountains. I'm afraid we'll get a cold snap and all the leaves will just die and fall off. I really really like the lamp peeping through the leaves. Very cool!

  2. Sorry you missed the colors in full bloom - Fall colors last so little time! but you did catch some beautiful shots!

  3. This is the week around here when everything is turning colors. I wasn't in any hurry, though. Winter . . . winter is just not my thing . . . Nicki, did you take a picture together with your sister? She resembles you, but I think I would have loved to have seen you side by side.

  4. Thank you all for the complements. Maria, I avoid being in front of the camera when ever possible. I did take some phone camera shots with my daughter - but not for purposes of posting. I share some resemblances with my sister, but for the most part, I take after my mom's side of the family whereas she is the splitting image of my dad's side.
