slowly going mad . . .

Netflix is a wonderful thing, and instant-stream is mind-blowing awesomeness.
We have managed to build a decent list of 1960/1970 TV shows as well as old movies
for watching when there is absolutely nothing on the 100+ channels currently on TV
and doing something productive around the house is out of the question.
(plus there is always wi-fi for when traveling.)

Recently my husband added Mad Men to the list because he had heard it was a pretty good show that had been nominated for, and perhaps won, several awards. So we innocently sat down one evening after dinner to watch what we figured would be an entertaining hour; an hour free of news, unemployment statistics, or 'World's Dumbest whatever".

plus, with all the awesomeness of instant-stream, you can watch shows commercial-free,
back to back ... to back ... to back ... seasons 1, 2, 3, and 4.

you can watch while you iron, fix dinner, and fold laundry.

Its a wonderful thing.

And Mad Men is ridiculously addictive.
Based in the 1960s of a group of characters who go from hero to villain, and back again
- often in a single episode.
If you have a rainy day on which you wish to accomplish absolutely nothing
- I highly recommend this show.

  1. I've never watched the show, but I know lots of people who love it! Love the pictures you put with your post! :)

  2. Love all the appropriate images with this! I've never seen the show, either...and I don't have NetFlix. How pathetic is that?

  3. Thanks for the recommendation. I love watching a series over a weekend and cold weather is coming soon!

  4. I've never seen the show either. It sounds like it would be perfect to see back-to-back episodes during the winter, when I can't muster the energy to do anything else . . .

  5. Got the first two seasons but haven't watched them yet - and your photos are perfect for advertizing the show!
