Texture Thursday . . .

{CoffeeShop Web Paint frame, Deviant Art texture}

I know there are several sites that run a Texture Tuesday (or perhaps it is Thursday) - and each week I drool and 'ooh and awe' over the fabulous work posted. This week I decided to pull from my mounting collection of textures and take a stab at it.

{CoffeeShop frame; Adobe Photoshop CS texture}

{CoffeeShop Frame, Kim Klassen Texture }

I do not buy textures - or frames for that matter,
not because I don't value the time and talent it takes to create these artistic elements,
but because this is a hobby already inherently expensive and this aspect is a frivolous embellishment. (perhaps frivolous is too harsh - but the point is - it is an extra that is not essential to my progress in photography - but it certainly makes it more fun)
I am very appreciative of free offers by many generous artists,
and enjoy the challenge of finding my own through photographing rust, wood, and various geometric images.

Finding and applying textures is only limited by your imagination.
and the willingness to experiment.

  5. You did more than take a stab at it...you rocked it! These are very beautiful. I agree with you about not purchasing textures and frames, the cost, even minimal can quickly add up.

  10. Lovely shots, I totally understand about having to limit finances in certain areas. I've had to pick and chose myself and usually equipment wins over funner things.
