Scavenger Hunt Sunday - Top 12 of 2012...

**ADDENDUM**
After I put this post together I noticed on Ashley's post the caveat that this was to be limited to kids and pets, or some such thing.
 Oh well!

I plead ignorance
a senior moment
stubbornness / rebellion because SHS has been about much more than kids and pets
 in any event
. . .

This week we are to submit our top 12 photos from this past year.

Twelve out of thousands, sure, no biggie!
I don't know about some of you, but I had a month here or there that was less than stellar.

at any rate, here we go . . .

From January of 2012, I pick:
I remember thinking the week I posted this, "never going to happen!"  A reoccurring response to weekly prompts throughout the year, yet each time I would scramble at the last minute and pull it together.  And like so many other times when this was the case, twelve months later I still like it!  Maybe there is something to be said for procrastination, heaven knows my daughter used to swear by it.

From February of 2012, I pick:

I'm not going to kid ya, I had to go back a couple of times to double check this was actually from February. What a crazy year of seasons we've had.   Mowing in March, coats in April, hot as heck in July (ok, that is to be expected), snow on Halloween. I guess in retrospect it hasn't been as weird as it seemed,
or maybe you just had to be there!

From March of 2012, I give to you:

"I saw this on Pinterest." said just about everyone at some point this year.

Out of countless April 2012 shots I picked

by golly, I believe I was finally getting the hang of that new Macro lens.

From May 2012, I pick you:
Over the past few years I have taken so many images of day lilies I think I could publish a book.
Guess it helps to have a willing subject.
(they line the inside of our privacy fence and have nowhere to run!)

At the half-way mark, June 2012 presents:
Ike could have his own Top 12. I love this cat to bits! ... and talk about a willing subject ...!

From July of 2012, I pick:
what makes this picture even sweeter is that it was taken while my sister was visiting. I sometimes think it is more about the fun surrounding the picture that presses it to the top of the list than necessarily the content. Maybe not, but in this case - definitely!

From August of 2012:

natures' idea of bejeweled glamor.  I'd wear it! (over black of course!)

From September of 2012, I rather liked:
season of transition. the point where my son really started to come into his own photographically and I started taking a back seat.  To be brutally honest, I am conflicted on how I feel about this. I am immensely proud of him, but I also miss when we collaborated. I am optimistic that we'll circle back to that level of exchange.

And then there was October, 2012:
visit #2 with my sister and back in our home town to boot!

From November of 2012 I pick:
my special parking lot leaf; a leaf that defied the odds of being smashed to smithereens as I parked my big ole SUV, only to greet me in all its glory as I heading into the gym. Don't know about anyone else, but I was in love with leaves this past Autumn, it's like they pulled out all the stops to enchant us, even in the final stages of their demise.

and finally, December of 2012:
a little hocus pocus and viola, a silhouette of yet another Christmas decoration.
I photographed the crap out of my Christmas decorations this year.

*~*~*~*

and because I did manage to photograph a few people this year
 . . .

  1. May and June are my favorites. The angle on both of them is so cool. And I was going to do this to but considering I don't have kids I couldn't do it!

  8. You had a great year photographically speaking! And I hope otherwise. I love the daylilies. We have a lot in our yard and I am not sure why I didn't take more photos of them this year. Maybe in 2013.. They would be a good subject for a book.
