well, that was random ...

this has been a pretty random.isk week
filled with highs and lows

High:
It is officially Autumn when the mums come out. I look forward to these flowers probably more than any the entire year and I have no reason why except it is Autumn.

 Low:
The leaves are falling at a discouraging rate. I want colorful trees, not colorful sidewalks that have to be swept, bagged and disposed of.

High:
Ike has finally stopped trying to sleep on my head or in my spot each night. He started this in July after we were gone for a week and it has taken this long to get him past this 'thing'.

 Low:
Ike has resumed his permanent spot beside my husband's legs at night which I suspect is preventing him from getting a restful sleep.  I love my husband and Ike - but honestly, I'm good with this.  My bad!

High:
Allyson is recovering well from her illness and back to getting out and about in Tokyo.

 Low:
She is still on the other end of the Earth and is missed dearly. Really, this is not much of a low because she is so happy to be where she is.

High:
He is official AND got his first college acceptance.

 Low:
Our insurance just doubled. Ugh!

High:
We celebrated and I had my first dessert in a long time.

 Low:
I had dessert!
(removed most of that whipped toping - but still...)

... ... ...
Have a good weekend

  1. I need to get to the garden center and get mums. It is time. Sounds like Ike (who is very handsome) really missed you. They really are love bugs covered in fur. Glad Allyson has recovered and is loving Japan. Oh, my --- the first college acceptance! Exciting times. Dessert looks delicious -- mouth watering! Have a great week.

  11. Well your high's pretty much cancelled any low...and oh those desserts!! I'm not looking forward to when our insurance goes up next year. He is already sixteen, but his illness derailed the driving thing for a while.

  13. It definitely sucks when your kids are sick and so far away. He looks too young to be ready for college. I have a dog that loves to come upstairs at 4:30 a.m. thinking it is time for breakfast. That is TOO early.

  14. Sweet Ike-having your children so far away is testament of us moms when we say we want our children happy-even though we miss them like crazy-and then some. Yeah for your official don and college acceptance letters!! Xo

  15. I bet you are relieved that Allyson is feeling better.

I had a cat that slept across my head for a long time. I got so used to it I would have to feel up there to see if he was there. When he got older he started sleeping where he could put his arm across my neck. And when older still, he had to have under the cover, against my side, with his head resting on my arm. I had him for 17 years...

I hate to hear that about your insurance...I am so afraid ours will go way up. Just holding my breath till we find out.

  17. For some reason, my comment I left here yesterday isn't showing up in the comment list. I do recall visiting tho because of the beautiful kitty, Ike!!

Maybe it's going into the SPAM folder in your blog admin.
In any case, I hope your weekend is treating you well.

  18. Sleeping with a cat can be a challenge but so can sleeping with any other living being. Our pug takes up much more room than is necessary for her size. AND I prefer her to sleep on Greg's legs instead of in my face. MY bad! Good news that your daughter is recovered and enjoying life in Japan and that the first college acceptance has arrived.
