give or take a year,
I got to meet the daughter of my dear friend from high school. I guess you could actually say we met over the internet through Facebook, but it simply wasn't the same as hugging this beautiful young woman and embracing the passion and dream my friend had longed for so many years earlier. As we sat waiting from her mom to cross the finish line of the marathon, we talked and laughed like we had always known each other. Her eager to get the low-down on life as a teen with her mom; me taking in how richly her mother had been surrounded by people who deeply love and care for her.

and seriously, don't get me started on how gorgeous this little guy is.
