noticing | little things Thursday ...

I have noticed over the past few evenings, where the weather is getting cooler and the nights are getting a nice crisp snap in the air, that I can hear the passing train whistle clearer.
The train runs the same schedule as during the summer months, it is just more obvious.

  1. It is so amazing about that, right? I hear the commuter rail whistle in the winter - like how I used to only hear the ship horns in the winter when I lived near the Hudson River!

  2. I love trains, train tracks, train whistles. I can hear the train whistle too when the wind changes direction ... especially this time of year. Wonderful shot.

  3. Love the whistle of trains , makes me want to go and travel. I like the perspective of the train track leading the eyes towards the bridge.

  4. Wonderful photo! Love the angle. Yes, this time of year things get a bit louder. Around here, it's because the leaves that are natural mufflers are off the trees. But, then, we close our windows mostly and that takes care of that. But there's definitely something rather romantic about a train whistle in the distance.

  5. I know exactly what you mean! I think I hear them most clearly on a clear winter's night.

  6. It is very mild here in the UK at the moment.... I even wore a summer dress the other day which was very strange and we have not put our heating on either
