not to be outdone by her mate:
The Cardinal family was in the neighborhood shopping for a new home for their impending family come Spring and apparently our dogwood caught their attention.
Well establish residence equip with two bedrooms, infinite bathrooms, built in mossy rugs and delightful foliage three out of four seasons.
Each year we get a few Cardinals hanging around the shrubs and trees, but normally they do not show up until later in the winter. I guess the lull in the snow (which is coming down as I type) enticed this couple to venture out on a rainy day. Chances are they would have gone unnoticed were it not for Ike.med the kitty terrorist. On my way upstairs I observed him frantically running from window to window doing what could best be described as a CAT trying to chirp like a BIRD. Though it didn't fool me, and I don't have the heart to tell him it won't fool the birds either, I looked over to see what the fuss was about. I'm sure what he saw was "spicy din-din", what I saw was an opportunity to capture some "foggy" shots. Oh, and really pretty birds too!
It is still snowing over there?? Wow. You get the best weather in the US! Unfair! Ours is just rain, be cold, rain some more, be cold, but not cold enough to snow, and once again, rain a bit more. That will usually last until May.
ReplyDeleteLove the last shot!!
Love that first shot. I wish we had cardinals here. We have scrub jays which are extremely loud and obnoxious...kind of a pretty blue...but nothing as pretty as cardinals. That last shot with the drops is gorgeous, too.
ReplyDeleteVery cool!! WE don't get any snow, so I love seeing photos of it!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful visitor! Would love to have one visit my trees!!
ReplyDeleteisn't she pretty :) I love that last shot with the raindrops, the comp and focus are wonderful...I see it in b&w and would love to see it if you did a conversion :)
ReplyDeleteAnd those were drops of rain on the branches? Are you having an early spring, with birds and rain? These are beautiful shots, especially that last one!
