Happy Birthday to the Girl . . .

Today is officially my daughter's 18th birthday and obviously a very special day to me. Even though her original birthday plans did not pan out, we did not let it discourage us. After a mother/daughter day of shopping and eating at one of her favorite restaurants, we wrapped up the celebration with what has to be the ugliest cake in the history of birthday cakes.

She wanted an ice cream cake,

and selected flavor over appearance. Those nasty little "drops" are cookie dough - and not moose droppings (yeah, right!)

but what gave her pause was the mixed up color scheme of orange, pink, turquoise, yellow, and what over left-over color icing they used on this cake. Really!

In any event, it tasted good - provided you close your eyes as you eat.

  2. Oh that's funny - I saw the center picture first (because the top one was still loading) and I thought the moose drops were peas! :-)
