sorrow . . .

For the past many years my children have participated in Tae Kwon Do, and during those 3-4 nights a week, just about every week of the year, I have sat with other moms and talked about family, food, health, books, and so forth. Over the years many moms have come and gone - but one mom and I have stuck it out and have become good friends. I learned yesterday that during our trip to Disney, this very special lady unexpectedly lost her husband to a massive heart attack. He had been the picture of health, a non-stop, perpetually working on something around the house type of guy. A loving husband, father, and grandfather. My heart hurts for her, and my words can not begin to express my sorrow for their family.

  1. Oh dear....those unexpected partings are the hardest, I think. My heart goes out to her and her family.

  2. Oh, Nicki! What a terribly sad time for her and all the loved ones connected to them! There's just no understanding why there has to be such sadnesses in the world. I hope their memories are comforting to them, and to you.
