"I'm a little bit country. I'm a little bit rock & roll."
This bear makes me think of those lyrics because he generally sits beside country cat ornaments.

* technology *
... and when I'm not doing laundry, I'm ironing. Do people even still iron? (other than me of course!) I mean, I guess they do because I am in the market for a new iron (my current one is only slightly newer technology than the one pictured) and holy cow are they pricey - apparently it is like $10.00 per steam hole. Personally I like the one with the retractable electric cord; but what do I know, I'm just the ironer!

I would have to say that my latest (photographic) style is 'old school' - processing and pictures that have an aged look to them. I don't always apply this 'style' - but I do like it when I see it.
... and bling. I like a little bling now and again.

* mismatch *
I thought about all the mismatched glasses in the cabinet. Or hodge-podge of socks in the drawer. But after hustling around preparing for at best a power outage, or at worst a tornado; I noticed how mismatched our collection of candles were.
But when there is no electricity - does it really matter if they match?
(we were fortunate to miss both the power outage and tornado - it went north and south of us - like the parting of the red sea)

I still iron! I actually enjoy it, ha! Great finds this week!
ReplyDeleteLove your BLING... and my routine is laundry too... UGH. :)
ReplyDeleteNicki - love them all! Your bling, your routine and that old iron!!
ReplyDeleteYour routine shot is great! Funny that I do laundry constantly and never even thought of it. and love the iron shot.
ReplyDeleteI just love the camera charm! And yes, laundry is certainly routine. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat set - that iron is amazing. I do not iron anymore unless I absolutely have to! You little camera charm is awesome!
ReplyDeleteLove your set!! I love the iron!! Beautiful pics! Thank you for you lovely comment over at my blog! :)
ReplyDeleteLove how you interpreted technology - I don't iron much anymore, but my husband does.
ReplyDeleteI really like your "bling" :). I never iron...actually, my son was home last week and asked where the iron was and it took me longer than I'd like to admit to find it, haha. But I love your interpretation and photo of that old iron.
ReplyDeleteI love that iron even though I never iron. It's been at least a decade I think.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw your thumbnail of the camera, I thought for sure your technology pic was of a camera - you fooled me! what a great series, and thank goodness the tornado missed you!
ReplyDeleteI love your camera charm. Ironing does not exist in our house. We throw it in the dryer and hope the wrinkles come out.
ReplyDeletelove the antique iron and your little camera!
ReplyDeleteGreat set! Love your style pic.
ReplyDeleteThese are great, Nicki!
ReplyDeleteI thought I was the only one who still irons. At least that's what some of my friends tell me. Now I can tell them they don't know everything. :)
I love your take on this challenge....I have two of those old irons that belonged to my husband's grandmother...I can't image having to use them.....
ReplyDeleteNancy - my sister and I used to refer to them as 'sad irons' because of the depressing stories our mom would tell about having to iron with them. I use mine as an ornament at the fireplace. (there would be a whole lot less ironing if I had to actually use this).
DeleteSuch a great set. I love your my style shot.. that little camera looks great on that photo. What a great idea..
ReplyDeletelove each one!
ReplyDeletenicely done.
Love the iron photo!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots - so glad you were safe from the raging storms this weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the group that still irons! Thanks goodness, we don't have to use the vintage iron!! Although I have one very similar to yours!! I love the way you composed your style shot!!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos - I agree that the iron photo is especially wonderful. I'm glad you weren't affected by the tornado! Thank so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteReally nice photos!!! I hate ironing, so I iron right before I'm going to wear something...Great photo of the antique one.
ReplyDeleteGreat set, LOVE your antique iron, so beautiful and your captured it wonderfully, love the tone! Super cute camera charm!
