games people play . . .

I can hear the call to start the games this year taking on a little 'Hunger Games' twist:

"Happy Egg Hunt! And may the odds be ever in your favor.”

Perhaps not quite the same as the hunger games, but arguably filled with fervent intensity.
My daughter took on egg hunts with the goal to annihilate all other kids in total eggs found.
My son, on the other hand, approached it more as an adventure complete with intrigue and mystery about where an egg could possibly be placed. I am certain he had the desire to find as many as he could, but rarely with the sole intent to win.

We saw the Hunger Games movie upon its release and I suspect my daughter quickly associated with Katniss who is very goal driven; and my son with Peeta - who plays a more social game.
The movie was very enjoyable and while it is not necessary to have read the books before-hand, it doesn't hurt.

  1. Beautiful photo! I think I may start reading the "Hunger Game" books. The movie looks good but I always like reading the books first. Just one more to add to the pile...
