I am officially old because once I get a system down, I don't want anyone or anything messing with it. nada!
Blogger slapped me with a new format and posting process this morning and so far the only good thing I see with it is that at least it didn't happen on a Monday. Ugh!
Out there in cyberspace, some 20-something kid said "I feel like yanking the chain of all the old folks who use Blogger." "I will change just enough of it to blow their OCD, basic step oriented, elementary computer skill level minds. bawhahahah!"
Personally, I like to control change in my life. I prefer to have it on my terms. When I want it and not the day before. Facebook has been issuing "Warning Warning Will Robinson" "You will need to change to the 'NEW FORMAT' by xxxxx" I ignored it until I FELT LIKE IT. and now, based on my observation of some of my semi-centenarian 'friends', you could still be hanging with the old format and no big deal. But it was my choice (sorta of) to change over earlier rather than later. That and the prodding of my son, who said "mom, you really need to get with the program." or something to that effect.
and he basically helped me make the changes. which I don't especially care for - but who uses Facebook anymore anyway, right?
I know what you mean; I like to be in charge of my changes as well but I am learning with the computer you either go with the flow or left behind.....I guess it keeps us young....
ReplyDeleteYikes! I didn't know they were changing blogger. I will have to be on the lookout. Seemed the same to me when I posted yesterday. I have gotten used to the new "timeline" in facebook. I don't mind it. I figure it's better to go with the flow than to fight it on these sites. You get used to it pretty quickly.
ReplyDeleteThe new blogger posting format kind of freaked me out today, too! I am also a creature of habit. :) I'm still resisting the Facebook change...but I now that it's only a matter of time before I have to have the Timeline!! Love your shot today. Makes me want to go to the beach!
ReplyDeleteOH NO! I haven't posted yet, and now I'll have to brace myself! And I'm just getting use to the change in google+. Overload! Overload!
ReplyDeleteWell, at least I get to soak in all the goodness of your cool shot while I procrastinate going near my blog. . . .
I haven't switched over to the new format in FB yet, and, from what I've seen of other people's pages, I'm not impressed. It seems very confusing to me. Then again, I'm old.
ReplyDeleteAbout your comment on my blog: I'm addicted to British period dramas, too! Do you watch Downton Abbey? I can't wait for the next season. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Maggie Smith returns.
yes - totally hooked on Downton Abbey and enjoyed Lark rise to Candleford and one about a hotel, but can't remember the name at the moment. I am grateful for Netflix and Amazon Prime Streaming.
