oddly art ...

* * *

For the record, I only ventured as far as the mail box yesterday (except to pick the youngin up from a friend's house).   Guess what, I don't feel guilty or as if I missed anything integral to my continued existence. So yes Virginia, you can skip Black Friday and live to tell about it.

In lieu of crowd surfing/shopping, I gathered up and put away all things pumpkin.  In the process, I came across this glass apple that belonged to my mom and I suspect at one point had some sort of liquid in it.  It now holds that last touch of artistry my kids felt it was lacking years and years and years ago.

  2. Pretty colors in that one Nicki. I don't do black Friday either. I did have to go out yesterday to pick up my mother in laws car for her and I ran in one store to grab something I needed while I was out, then back home to spend my day just sitting by the window with my computer and enjoying the view of the mountains from my house in TN. Today though finds me back in Michigan :)

  3. Sand art! Haven't seen that in decades... I didn't go out yesterday at all, and didn't miss a thing. Of course, we got 1 1/3" of rain yesterday, so only the die-hard (mental) shoppers were out in the deluge. I was happy with a book in front of the fireplace.

  4. I must say, I did go to Bed, Bath and Beyond on Friday, at the leisurely hour of 11:00 A.M. There were people in the store, but it wasn't packed, and we didn't have to wait in line at all! I went to get a food processor because my old one conked out and we were in and out of the store in 15 minutes.

    I haven't packed all my pumpkin things yet. This has been such a nice Fall season, I'm reluctant to let it go . . . although we're big on Christmas around here.

    I'm looking forward to your quirky and fun ornaments. I bet you have many, many more you haven't shown us yet. Your mom's bottle is awesome! I wonder what it held originally . . . Could it have been apple cider, do you suppose . . . ? What a treasure!
