trying to keep one step ahead ...

because it is almost always closer than it appears in the mirror

. . . .

We are at the end of this thing called "Summer Break",
("Brief Intermission" might be a better label)

school starts in a few days  day-after-tomorrow.   TOO SOON !!
Japan is happening in  THREE  weeks. So much to do, so little time.
oy vey!

Crazy busy with the 'this and thats' of getting children off to school,
and still the average, every day regular things need to be done.

Deep breaths and less looking in the side-mirror might help.

. . .

  1. School starting??? Already!!??
    Japan???? For how long???? Wow!!!
    BTW......great shot for this post!

  2. I love rear view mirrow shots! Especially yours, with that rain! I want to also thank you for your comment on my most recent blog post. That was a harder one for me to share, so I appreciate it :)

  3. Summer did fly by. A trip to Japan that is exciting, have fun. It does sound like deep breaths and a stolen moment or two in a nice relaxing bath are in order.

  4. Cool image! I know what you mean about trying to stay ahead. However, Japan sounds amazing!

  5. Wow - that is awesome!!

Japan - wow!! That sounds amazing!

  6. a very clever post - love the raindrops on the mirror!

  7. Good luck! The summers always did go by too fast when the kids were younger for me. Now, I am happy to see them end and look forward to the beautiful autumn weather. Take a break now and then!

  8. You are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE Japan!

  9. btw...what airlines are you taking? My DH is flying to China for 11 days in 3 wks but he stops in Japan first...wouldn't THAT be something??!!

  10. Wow...Japan sounds awesome! Hope y'all have a fantastic school year!

  11. I think school always starts too soon!

  12. I love this reflection with drops in the mirror, excellent photo!

  13. It's funny as I took the same kind of photo this week but yours is great with the raindrops..

  14. Nicki,
I really like the point of view of this photo and the rain drops.

Summer does seem to fly by! Hope all goes well getting back in the school grove.

You are headed to Japan? Enjoy your trip.

  15. The raindrops on the mirror make a great photo! I hope you get everything ready for Japan. That's quite a trip!

  16. Getting kids off to school... yup, sound familiar, except I'm on the other side of the bus door, and I love it! I just ordered about 100 pencils (school bus safety etc) to add to the 57 pencils I have left over from the first day of school last year... I give a pencil to every elementary school age student on my route each year.. it is SO much fun to do! As to PT & OT, your philosophy, er crap, makes sense, lol! I REALLY am thankful for the help...

  17. I like the in-the-rear-vision mirror image with the raindrops. I have been know to take them too. But are we looking forward and trying to keep one step ahead or are we looking back wanting to go over the past?
Have a great week and thank you for stopping by my blog today.

  18. This image is one of the first ones I remember taking with the DSLR. It's always a good one. :)

  19. Great shot. I am in preperations for end of summer vacation to visit my family in the USA!!!

  20. NIce to meet you! I enjoy your 'point of view' on things.
