You may recall some pictures from a wedding I recently attended; well, the lovely bride, a long time friend of our family, learned of my son's passion for photography and gifted him beyond his imagination. She had some old film cameras as well as darkroom equipment - all his.
my treat
-
getting to use the much better monopod
(holy crap, so much better than my cheapo one)
and getting to take pictures of the equipment.
so much fun
thank you thank you thank you
What a gift. I love digital photography but film is something special. My father gifted me his Canon Canonet from the early 60's. I just love it. My MIL gave me my late FIL's Brownie that I brought back to life.
ReplyDeleteWhat a generous gift!! Love the "old" cameras. My dad did photography professionally when I was little and I grew up amongst all types of equipment!
ReplyDeleteLove these images! I love old cameras and equipment. What a lovely gift for your son and I know he will make good use of them. Did he take the photos on the contact sheets? And what new monopod did you get?
ReplyDeleteShirley - he did not take those pictures - they were among the darkroom stuff. The monopod is an old, but very good Silk. Back in the day, THE name you went to for camera equipment.
DeleteWow, what an incredibly generous gift indeed!!
ReplyDeletewow, what a great gift... i'd still love to shoot film, it's just too expensive...
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome for their vintage qualities. Will your son really shoot film? Whether or not I ever used them, I would love to own these cameras!
ReplyDeleteSharon - he will have to shoot film in college next year - so yep, these puppies will definitely get used.
DeleteTreasures for sure!
ReplyDeleteCool, cool, cool!!!!!
