This morning I pulled out a prehistoric book on quotations and randomingly picked a word.
Kindness
To quote another source:
"Clark - it's the gift that keeps on giving."
"That it is Eddie, that it is." *
Kindness takes but a second of our time, costs nothing, and can reward both the recipient and the giver. Even when it is not acknowledged, don't you just feel better having 'taken the high road' or shown a little kindness to another person? I truly believe the commercials where one act of kindness sponds another - and I don't believe many commercials.
.....
[*Christmas Vacation - if you haven't watched this -- and I'm shocked at the number of people who haven't -- you really should. We have warped family traditions and watching this each year is one of them.]
Griswold Family Christmas (I don't think that's the official name)... we watch it every years, and I always laugh...
ReplyDeleteI, too, believe that acts of kindness can spread. Kindness certainly makes life more peaceful and enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteI am one of those people who has never seen "Christmas Vacation." I'll look for it this season. :-)
This is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot and this quote should be posted everywhere! Something that if we all practiced, the world would be a much different place.
ReplyDeleteLovely thoughts and lovely photo! My husband and son watch "Christmas Vacation" every year. I join them about every third year. It's my second favorite holiday movie after "The Christmas Story."
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot and quote!
ReplyDeleteI think I saw "Christmas Vacation" once .... and that was enough.
I'm a "A Christmas Carole" kind of girl ;-)
I must see this film this year, I haven't seen it before. The flowers are so pretty ... It is Amaryllis? Kindness is a Word we need so much, especially here when the Christmas season us about to start ,,, sometimes people need to wait in a store, and then a portion of kindness would do miracles :)
ReplyDeleteIt's ELF here! It's so ridiculous but gotta watch it. What a great quote. I'm into quotes these days. I often wonder what the author was going through to write about it.
