thanksgiving flowers ...

flowers from the clearance shelf at the market

making way for Christmas flowers

not quite finished with their golden glory

still capable to bless the kitchen with cheer.

~.~.~

I know that bright reds, royal greens and accompanying twinkling multi-color lights
are about to lay siege on the house,
but there is a part of me that wants to hold on tight to the rich golden earthy tones of Autumn.
I'm just not ready to let go  - not yet.
What's more, the accelerated commercialism of Christmas is making me even less interested.

  1. Lovely close ups of the flowers! I agree that Christmas overpowers Thanksgiving. I like to enjoy Thanksgiving, then let Christmas come. :-) I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  6. tell me about it...I'm so SICK of the retailers and their early start to Christmas shopping. Don't even get me started on the demise of Thanksgiving and the thought of family traditions going down the toilet to save a buck. grrrrrrrrrr
