picture postcard ...

Frosted window panes
Candles gleaming inside
Painted candy canes on the tree
Santa's on his way
He's filled his sleigh with things
Things for you and for me
...
every song you hear
seems to say

Merry Christmas!

...

I was remiss this year and failed to put together a Christmas card for mailing.
I had plenty of pictures.
I had plenty of time.
I just didn't do it.
Have we really slipped that far off from tradition
where holiday wishes come from cyberspace?
Based on the 2 cards I have received this year - I dare say that we have.
On the upside - I am pretty good about uploading a lot of picture postcards.

  1. So interesting about the cards. In my circle of Judaism, we don't really send "holiday" cards at this time of year or our new year. I love seeing the cards of others celebrating though!

  2. We were remiss in sending cards this year but only received a few as well. We are not alone!

  3. Love the edit Nicki! I did send real cards this year -- as I usually do. Because receiving a real card in the mail from a friend or family member is one of the season's best gifts. I always say "awwww, how nice" when I get one. xo

  4. I normally do a card, but just couldn't manage this year. Think of it as saving a tree! :). Live your digital greetings!

  7. Well your digital card is lovely, and also the quote with it. yes, it does seem as if the world has changed in so many ways. I remember as a child, we got so many cards from everywhere that the mailman, who carried a huge leather bag of mail, had to deliver twice a day over the holiday season. My mom did a very serious christmas card list. I still have saved some of those cards from years past.... saving them in a big box in the back of a closet. Such beauty hidden away. HOpe you have a lovely Christmas!~

  8. Love the edit.

I sent out store bought cards, again this year. The list seems to get shorter each year, though.

I say every year, I'm going to do my own cards....take a photo, edit it, get some printed....then, actually mail them out. Hasn't happened yet.

    Maybe next year.

    Merry Christmas.
