21 | Communal Globe | Little Things Thursday ...

Today, (or yesterday, depending on where you are) my baby girl turns 21.

 Twenty-One.

From the moment she started playing Pokemon in the first grade, her dream was to go to Japan.
As a result, the highlight of so many visits to Disney's Epcot was shopping Mitsukoshi Department Store.
(her brother perhaps didn't share in her enthusiasm)

So to say she was excited for the opportunity to study abroad in Japan would be an understatement.
We get regular updates through video chats,
but knowing me like she does, there is the occasionally picture e-mail.

At 21 and to be living one of your longest life dreams is nothing short of amazing.
Many people go a lifetime without that accomplishment.

  6. Happy Birthday!!!! Wow 21 is quite a milestone birthday. I think it is truly amazing that your daughter was inspired and made then actually made a dream come true getting to Japan. I know she's loving it-I know I did. She's quite the photographer too. Is she home now?

  7. How quickly they grow ... but they'll always be our 'little girl' {or boy}, won't they? Absolutely awesome that she's following her dream and making it a reality! But I know it's hard for you to have her so far away ...
