"Upside Down"
Jack Johnson
~~~
Who's to say
What's impossible
What's impossible
Well they forgot
This world keeps spinning
And with each new day
I can feel a change in everything
And as the surface breaks reflections fade
But in some ways they remain the same
And as my mind begins to spread its wings
There's no stopping curiosity
I want to turn the whole thing upside down
I'll find the things they say just can't be found
Who's to say
I can't do everything
Well I can try
Please don't go away
We are 5 days away from his graduation
and no matter how much we would like to turn the world upside down to keep things the same with familiar routines and similar situations that we have learned to adapt to over the years,
the reality is they change.
He is eager to test his wings and satiate his curiosity.
and
yea, that is how it's supposed to be.
Yikes.. It so scary when they get to this age.. Mostly for us. Great snaps my friend.
Yep, that is exactly how it is supposed to be.
ReplyDeletePerfect. I've watched two sail through this stage....you've captured the feelings we go through and the hopes we hold on to for them perfectly!!
ReplyDeleteLetting them spread their wings & fly isn't always easy but I think you will do just fine. Loved these shots and it's great he's into photography as well. That 1st shot is so cool, the one building looks "stretched" which is interesting.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, changes are a comin'. I love the bird's eye view of the street below.
ReplyDeleteAw - so sweet! Big changes - but he is going to fly!!
ReplyDeleteLookalike he picked up Mama's camera habit!
ReplyDeleteGee whiz...looks like! I should know better than to comment on an iPad.
ReplyDeleteYes - an adventure for him and not an easy time for us! Nice shots of your son!
ReplyDeleteAs gut wrenching as it is...yes...that's the way it's suppose to be! LOVE the shots of your son!
ReplyDeleteTough times - but also happy times, as he is spreading his wings to fly. You taught him to, so he will be back - frequently :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a bittersweet time isn't it?!,! So proud they have grown into wonderful adults, yet we wish we could keep them with us. It's hard to let them fly. But we do :). Love that BW portrait Against that brick wall...such a handsome young man. Congrats! Thank you for linking up to Song-ography.
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome young man ... you will love the spreading of the wings. It is a very exciting time and doesn't require routine. Be brave, Nicki and enjoy.
My son moved into his own apartment this past Friday. I know exactly what you are talking about here. But there is no way to stop time. Best of luck to your handsome son!
