Hot Fun in the Summertime
I know it was but a short break - but man, did I miss song*ography;
and talk about a time appropriate song-prompt,
"hot fun" is one way to describe vacationing in Florida in late July.
The only way to survive is fast rides
and ice cream
nothing says summer fun like ice cream
Linking up with Kathy on
Nothing says hot fun like ice cream, indeed!! Although in Boston it's a year round must eat!
ReplyDeleteif I'm being honest - ice cream is a staple in our freezer year round
DeleteThunder Mountain Railroad??? FUN! Brings back such great memories :) :) :) There is NOTHING as special as a vacay in Disney where EVERY DAY is a "magical" day. Thanks for joining in at Song-ography! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is now "Seven Dwarfs Mine Train" with crazy long wait periods (husband and son only rode with Fass Pass tickets) . Secret to Disney is that the magic comes into play when you have left the park/resort - you magically forget how hot/humid/crowded it was and quickly book your return trip. Pixie Dust - pretty sure. (wink wink) We've decided this was probably our last 'heat of the summer' trip to Disney and have booked a return for the Halloween Party/Food & Wine Fest. in October and the Flower & Garden Fest. in March. I've reached the conclusion that the elderly always had it right about Florida - great for the winters, but go North for the summer. I am OFFICIALLY old!
DeleteI bet you had to eat that ice cream pretty quickly. It looks refreshing.
ReplyDeleteMickey ice creams are a traditional first day at the park ritual for our family - and yep, if you snooze, you loose because it melts quickly - but that is half the fun (or at least 1/4 the fun). :)
DeleteI can relate to the ice cream but not the coaster. I enjoy your Song-ographys. Glad you're back.
ReplyDeleteoh my....so so so many disney memories from when our kids were little! We lived in Paris at the time, and would "escape" to Euro Disney for some fun, some magic and a taste of 'home"! Love your photos - and I agree...so glad song-ography is back!
ReplyDeleteInteresting the "rebranding" of Thunder mountain! I guess they need the tie into the classic Disney collection - makes sense.
ReplyDeleteI can say, I don't ever relish the thought of going to Disney during the summer. In February, yes, but not in July! I'm sweating just thinking about it!
Glad you have a follow up trip planned!
Those Mickey ice creams are a must on every visit to Disney, no matter the weather! I didn't know Thunder Mountain is rebranded. That's weird, but it looks like the same super fun train. Any day at the happiest place on earth is FUN!
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't actually rebranded - Thunder Mountain still exists, but this was created in the new Princess part of Magic Kingdom and is strongly based on style of Thunder Mountain.
DeleteIce cream, yes! Roller coasters and theme park rides, too scary for me!
ReplyDeleteIce cream? Any time!! Lovely shots of what must have been a great day out.
ReplyDeleteGreat action shots!
