The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things,
but their inward significance.

Two photographs,
one from my visit to California at the beginning of the year,
the other from my walk in the autumn of the year.
Both images that I considered pitching in the whole scheme of things,
both served to remind me to look beyond the first impression.
Perhaps it was the inner significance, the inner character that nudged me to keep them in the first place.
These are both gorgeous. Such a good reminder!
ReplyDeleteLove the edits on both of these!
ReplyDeleteI have photos I too feel I should delete because something isn't quite right with them. Sometimes cropping works but other times I can't decide and end up letting too many just sit there in folders.
I do the worst with grandchildren pics. Can't bear deleting any - regardless of focus. :)
Oh ... the tenderness and simplicity of the rose is touching ... and the colours and the beautiful forms of the leaves in the lower one speak to me - Would love to make a canvas of them!
ReplyDeletethere is something about the watercolor effect...so pretty
ReplyDeleteSometimes you go back and look with fresh eyes or a fresh perspective and it makes all the difference in the world.
