...
Be still, sad heart! and cease repining;
behind the clouds is the sun still shining.
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
into each life some rain must fall.
Some days must be dark and dreary.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
I need rainy days.
Days that provide a built in hall pass to curl up with a warm blanket and binge-watch Netflix.
Days where success is achieved by accomplishing nothing.
Days that mysteriously refuel some undefined need deep inside.
Days where success is achieved by accomplishing nothing.
Days that mysteriously refuel some undefined need deep inside.
A natural response to a natural occurrence that comes effortlessly.

ReplyDeleteso true! I am in need of some serious sun and vitamin D though!!
ReplyDeleteVery ethereal photography ~ winter is here ~
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend to you,
artmusedog and carol
we are having a rather gloomy day here as well but we had a dusting of snow last night so everything looks all pretty and wintery.
ReplyDeleteSince there is little rain in Texas, and I am used to lots of rain in Illinois, I still cherish those rainy days. I run outside and listen to the pitter patter with abandon, Nicki.
ReplyDeleteI agree, but today I could use a little sunshine.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more, although it seems I'm having more and more of those days lately. The sun hasn't shone since last year and that's unusual for us. Love the photos!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I do love rain, but have to admit I was happy to see the sun after 8 days without that great big ball of fire!
ReplyDeleteI love, LOVE the second image. I agree with your sentiment of gray, rainy days. There should be a sense of days to hibernate. We've just had some many of them already! Still, I should embrace them as a gift to rest.
ReplyDeleteThe gloom has been here for a long time too...wishing for the sun to shine once in awhile!!! Hibernation is good for a time, but I do need the sun just to peek it head out occasionally...Wishing you well!!! Cathy
