Good.Random.Fun | all aboard ...

the GOOD ...

We had lunch with family this weekend to start the farewell tour of Allyson before she embarks for Japan to begin her post-college life.  Appropriate for the occasion are fiberglass trains
artfully decorated and situated throughout downtown Huntington.

the RANDOM ...

While the designs might be random, they are all supporting a unified cause - The Hoops Family Children's Hospital,
a specialized division of a local hospital, providing care for the tri-state's children.

the FUN ...

Some of the designs are rather whimsical and fun.

All Aboard! Artisans Express is a collaborative public art initiative between the Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation, the City of Huntington and the Cabell Huntington Hospital Auxiliary with the support of many organizations and businesses throughout the community. In keeping with Chicago’s Cows on Parade and Lexington’s Horse Mania, artists from throughout the Tri-State will apply their creativity to 42 fiberglass train engine models that will be displayed throughout the city next year. Artists will submit their ideas and those selected will take several months to create their model. The trains will be installed and on display in Huntington’s downtown from May 9, 2015 through October 31, 2015. At the close of the project, a special event, All Aboard! Rendezvous at the Rails, will be held to auction the trains off as a fundraiser for the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital. Follow the project on Twitter at @ArtisansExpress or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/tristateartisansexpress.
