Today feels like the 1st day of the new year. Saturday and Sunday were swept under the rug of old commitments and resolutions along with the rest of 2010 and everything starts anew today. New diet, new exercise plan, new outlook on life. Starting today.
Even so, this morning started off pretty much as every Monday had in the 2010 school year - me yelling what time it was in increments up to the Girl who was rushing to get ready for school. I'm doing pretty much the same routine I did in 2010 - nothing new there, (but I will be walking later this morning - really, I will). And I will start on the room-by-room cleaning later today. But right now I have to console poor Ike who is, in addition to mourning the loss of his beloved tree, now missing the comfort of snoozing teenagers. Its a new day, its a new start, and yet not so very different than last Monday. Just quieter.
Lovely shots! Give me some frosty photo's anyday!
ReplyDeleteThese are so beautiful with the touches of frost. I still have one more week before I have to start the new me ;) I'm turning 30 Friday so I cut myself some slack and took this week off from change. Good luck to both of us in anything we try to do!
ReplyDeleteLove these. Did you shoot them with a macro lens??? I also love your post!
ReplyDeleteGREAT shots!
ReplyDeleteYour post made me smile. I have to agree that today seems more like January 1 than Saturday did. I still had one kid home today. Nate goes back to college tonight. So I guess maybe tomorrow will REALLY seem like January 1! Great shots. Seriously love them!
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful! Almost makes me miss those frosty mornings we had on the east coast. Almost...
ReplyDeleteWow these are great. You did a great job capturing the frost. Today feels more like the new year for me too. Did you enjoy your run?
ReplyDeleteBobbi - I can't use that anymore as I'm a little past the "use by 30" date - but I am totally in favor of giving one's self some slack around birthdays, 4th of July, Mother's Day, kids' birthday - cause honestly who really gave birth on those days (moms!) --- you get the picture.
ReplyDeleteCari - I wish I had a macro lens, but sadly I don't so I make do with what I have. These were with a 24-78 zoom.
great shots!
ReplyDeleteI am trying to make new committments to getting healthier and working out every day!
good luck to YOU!

Wow - those shots are really pretty. Today felt like any old Monday to me. But, I am still going to plug away at all of these good intentions I acquired last week.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! I love the last one!
ReplyDeleteRight after starting a new health regimen, cleaning out the house has got to have the #2 spot for resolutions. But, boy, you are way more ambitious than me. I can think of cleaning only in terms of smaller projects, fractions of a room (i.e. clean out the china cabinet, the linen closet, the Laundry Room (it's diminutive). Cleaning out an entire room seems like an enormous commitment, and I think I suffer from CADD (Cleaning Attention Deficit Disorder). I'm back at work now, and even those small commitments will need to be spaced out liberally, and interspersed with "Kindling" time, at least during the winter . . .
ReplyDeleteWow on the focus these are great. I like all the detail in the frost I can see. New Year kinda fools you into thinking things will be different doesn't it? Good luck on all you set out to do.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots! and today is the first day of the new me!! LOL!
