I spent way too much time on this project.
Thinking about it,
hunting for a tutorial that I thought I had saved about it,
and creating a concoction that would allow me to hopefully accomplish it.

But having no luck finding the tutorials,
and roughly applying some of the steps I vaguely remembered from the posts about it,

I failed.
miserably.
miserably.
OH I feel for you. I tried this a few weeks ago and it took the help of my husband to get my focus. Then it took me some time to figure out that IF I watched the drip forming and then when it dropped hit the shutter release (I used a wireless release). Even with that I was not pleased with my results. I may try again some day.
ReplyDeleteOne weekend several years ago I bet I took 300 shots trying to get one in focus. I was using the kitchen faucet and the sink filled w/water.
ReplyDeleteHere's the link to the tutorial thread:

Ohh, how frustrating.
ReplyDeleteI can relate, though I haven't tried this particular challenge.
Good for you for sticking with it.
I REALLY want to try this but I don't have a flash :(
ReplyDeleteI don't think you failed miserably at all! I think you were pretty close! Keep going at it, I can't wait to see where you take it!
I will give it another go some day, just not this weekend - and thank you L for the link.
ReplyDeleteNever tried this, but I imagine my success wouldn't even be this good! I love the color you used for the background. And you did get a shot!
ReplyDeleteThat does look like failure to me! It's really pretty!
ReplyDeleteI think HLIP already steered you the right way, but is this what you were after? Simple water droplet tutorial
now I want to try it :) I do love the aqua blue
ReplyDeleteI used the same tutorial that Jill linked you to. It took a while and a lot of shots, but I eventually got the hang of it. It sure was fun trying, and I can't wait to give it another go. I don't think you failed at all!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried it yet because I am sure I will fail :( - I have to try that tutorial and see if I can make it...
ReplyDeleteGreat photo though in the end!!! My husband perfected pictures like these. I'll have to post some on my blog sometime.
