Joining up with Mona for another week of Floral Love.
Many of the flowers around here have seen their better days,
and like the kids heading back to school next week,
their summer has pretty much come to a bitter sweet end.

I feel like crying...summer is just too sweet to end!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of dying cone flowers/echinacea.
ReplyDeletePretty perfect flower photos are everywhere, but I like this change of pace. Well done Nicki!
ReplyDeleteExcellent end of summer photos
ReplyDeletebut you have captured them in their waning beauty...beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. Even at their end they are stunning.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that flowers are still beautiful even when drying out...yet the same is not considered of us? :).
ReplyDelete"true that!" I couldn't agree more; personally I think once you hit a certain age, the wrinkles are a beautiful map of a life well lived.
Deleteyeah....what Kathy McB says!!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Nicki!
ReplyDeletestunning photos! the flowers are still so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI've tried taking photos of dying flowers, but they never turn out right. Clearly you don't have that problem; these are great. I especially love the middle one.
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots of the end of the flowers. I notice yesterday there wasn't much to shoot whilst out walking in Kew Gardens. All seems to be fading away. I am now ready for Autumn color.
ReplyDeleteAging is a beautiful season of life, and you captured it so well! These are wonderful, Nicki! It is a bit sad to see summer go ... seems like it's only just begun around here, oh but now we can look forward to the amazing colors of autumn! My favorite time of year! I'm dropping in from Floral Love. Hope you have a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteI love all the daisy family especially the ecchinaceas, that second image is truly stunning! :)
ReplyDeleteI love these! I think flowers have beauty in all their phases just like humans.
