Macro Monday ...

I appreciate the restraint my husband exercised in not laughing when I got excited about this butterfly when it landed in front of me while photographing at the Greenbrier on Saturday. At home I have seen a total of ZILCH, ZIP, NADDA butterflies.
Okay, perhaps one or two tiny yellow ones
and a couple itsy-bitsy moths, but no full sized butterflies to speak of.
Seriously, what gives ???

  2. It's wonderful!
I agree ... what gives? As a kid, I swear I saw butterflies all over the place.
As an adult, not so much?
Am I looking in the wrong places???

  3. Now that you mention it, I haven't seen any butterflies either.

  4. Super shot! For a week or two this spring I saw a lot of tiger swallowtails. Now I'm seeing very few. Hmmmm.

  5. I haven't seen many either in CO - but the one you "captured" is lovely.

  6. How fun and exciting! Great butterfly picture, Nicki! I saw a butterfly in Iowa and had to photograph it; I got funny looks from my Sister.

  8. I love butterflies. Last summer one sat on my palm and I swear it was looking at me, turning its head curiously. It was a magic moment, and yes, my hubby was laughing when I told him the story...
