I appreciate the restraint my husband exercised in not laughing when I got excited about this butterfly when it landed in front of me while photographing at the Greenbrier on Saturday. At home I have seen a total of ZILCH, ZIP, NADDA butterflies.
Okay, perhaps one or two tiny yellow ones
and a couple itsy-bitsy moths, but no full sized butterflies to speak of.
Seriously, what gives ???
Beautiful Nicki!
ReplyDeleteJust this past week our butterflies have returned...monarchs and swallowtails in abundance...I'll send some your way! (o:
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI agree ... what gives? As a kid, I swear I saw butterflies all over the place.
As an adult, not so much?
Am I looking in the wrong places???
;-)
Now that you mention it, I haven't seen any butterflies either.
ReplyDeleteThat is one perfect capture Nicki - You even got some shadow play!
Super shot! For a week or two this spring I saw a lot of tiger swallowtails. Now I'm seeing very few. Hmmmm.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen many either in CO - but the one you "captured" is lovely.
ReplyDeleteHow fun and exciting! Great butterfly picture, Nicki! I saw a butterfly in Iowa and had to photograph it; I got funny looks from my Sister.

I have a soft place in my heart for butterflies....she's GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteI love butterflies. Last summer one sat on my palm and I swear it was looking at me, turning its head curiously. It was a magic moment, and yes, my hubby was laughing when I told him the story...
